2023 Mull River Headwaters Stream Restoration Project

Watercourse: Mull River, Headwaters. A total of 29 structures were installed in the headwaters of the Mull River. The total length of stream habitat restored was 2,175 meters.

2021 Upper Southwest Mabou River Stream Restoration Project

Watercourses: Upper Southwest Mabou River. A total of 28 structures were installed on the upper section of the Southwest Mabou River. The total length of stream habitat restored was 1,680 meters. ISAA also completed riparian zone restoration by planting approximately 550 saplings consisting of white oak, white pine, and sugar maple.

 

2020 Southwest Mabou River and Unnamed Tributary Installation Project

Watercourses: Southwest Mabou River and Unnamed Tributary (Mabou Harbour Watershed). A total of 17 were installed on the Southwest Mabou River restoring a total length of 1200 meters and an area of 16,800 squared meters of stream habitat. Seven structures were installed on the Unnamed Tributary. The total area of stream habitat restored was 2,058 squared meters.

 

2019 Winter Damage Assessment Report

Watercourses: Broad Cove River, Frasers Brook,
More River, Miramichi Brook, Rosedale Brook, MacQuarries Brook, Glendyre Brook, Little Shea Brook, Big Shea Brook, Graham’s River (Broad Cove Watershed, Mabou Harbour Watershed, Graham’s River Watershed).
A total of 267 structures had received maintenance by adding hand rock and other materials to each structure.

 

2019 MacLeod’s Settlement, Final Report

Watercourses: MacLeod’s Brook, Southwest Mabou River (Mabou Harbour Watershed). A total of 45 structures were installed between
the Southwest Mabou River and MacLeod’s Brook (tributary to the Southwest Mabou River). Out of the 45 structures, 8 of those were installed on the Southwest Mabou River, with the remaining 36 installed on MacLeod’s Brook. Between the two watercourses, a total of 3,612.5 meters of stream habitat was restored.

Watercourses: MacLeod’s Brook, Southwest Mabou River (Mabou Harbour Watershed). A total of 45 structures were installed between the Southwest Mabou River and MacLeod’s Brook (tributary to the Southwest Mabou River). Out of the 45 structures, 8 of those were installed on the Southwest Mabou River, with the remaining 36 installed on MacLeod’s Brook. Between the two watercourses, a total of 3,612.5 meters of stream habitat was restored.

 

2018 NSLC Adopt-A-Stream Final Report

Watercourses: More Brook, Fraser’s Brook, Broad
Cove River, Glendyre Brook, Brook Village Road Brook, MacQuarries Brook, Big Shea Brook, Little Shea Brook, Graham’s River (Broad Cove Watershed, Mabou Harbour Watershed, Graham’s River Watershed).
A total of 37 structures were installed on Graham’s River along with 205 meters of armour stone. The total length restored on Graham’s River with the new installation totaled to 2,472.68 meters. The remaining watercourses had received general maintenance and debris removal. The total stream habitat restored was 10,360 meters.

 

2017 Winter Damage Assessment Report

Watercourses: More Brook, Glendyre Brook, Broad Cove River, Frasers Brook, Miramichi Brook, MacQuarries Brook, Big Shea Brook, Little Shea Brook, Graham’s River (Broad Cove Watershed, Mabou Harbour Watershed, Graham’s River Watershed). New structure installation was completed on Graham’s River, restoring 1151.45 meters of stream habitat. The remaining watercourses received general structure maintenance and debris removal. A total of 4,925.41 meters of stream habitat was restored.

 

2016 NSLC Adopt-A-Stream Final Report

Watercourses: MacQuarries Brook, Little Shea Brook, Glendyre Brook, More Brook, Frasers
  Brook, Graham’s River (Broad Cove Watershed, Mabou Harbour Watershed & Graham’s River Watershed) A total of 15 deflectors and 21 groynes were installed in Grahams River. The riverbanks were also stabilized with class 1&2 armour stone rock, strategically placed with machinery. Lastly, 18 oak and 3 black ash trees were planted among the riparian zone.

A total of 49 new structures were installed between the two watercourses.

2013 NSLC Adopt-A-Stream Final Report

Watercourses: Frasers Brook, More Brook,
MacQuarries Brook, Big Shea Brook, Little Shea Brook, Broad Cove River, North East Mabou River, Glendyre Brook, Miramichi Brook (Broad Cove Watershed, Mabou Harbour Watershed).
A total of 243 structures were maintained with some being newly installed. A total length of 8,642 meters of stream habitat was restored.

Adopt-A-Stream Final Report

Watercourses: Northeast Mabou River, Miramichi River, Rankin Brook, Broad Cove River, Frasers Brook, More Brook, Glendyre Brook, Big Shea Brook, Little Shea Brook, (Broad Cove Watershed and Mabou Harbour Watershed). A total of 9 new structures were installed between Frasers Brook and the Little
Shea Brook. Debris was cleared in the remaining watercourses. A total length of 1,595 meters of stream habitat was restored and cleared of
  debris jams.

Watercourses: MacIsaac’s Brook, Fraser’s Brook, Broad Cove River, Rankins Brook, MacNeil’s Brook, Little Shea Brook, Big Shea Brook, More Brook, Glendyre Brook, North East Mabou River (Broad Cove Watershed, Mabou Harbour Watershed). A total of 28 new structures were installed between Frasers Brook, Little Shea Brook, and More Brook. A total length of 3,466 meters of stream habitat was restored ancleared of debris jams.

Final Report

Watercourses: North East Mabou River,
Miramichi, Rankin Brook, MacQuarries Brook, Broad Cove River (Broad Cove Watershed and Mabou Harbour Watershed. A total of 8 structures were installed in MacQuarries Brook.
Several debris jams were cleared in the remaining watercourses preparing the streams for installation for the following years. A total of 1600
meters of stream habitat was restored and cleared of debris jams.
